Hybrid Question ???

Hello to All,

My 4I is 371/2  5I is 37. Should I have my 4-5 Hybrids cut to the same length as my 4 and 5 Irons???

i would say no. simply because its nice to have a little extra distance to tap into if needed otherwise just grip down a bit for more control and at least for me similar distance to your irons

How much would you be cutting off? If it's an inch or more, it might increase the stiffness.

Also, some hybrids are "iron replacement" design, basically designed to replace the numbered iron in a given set. The IR hybrids would have similar loft to the iron.

Traditional (can we way that now?) hybrids fall between fairway woods and numbered irons in shaft length and loft.

The current length of the 4 hybrid is 39 1/2 and the 5 hybrid is 39. They are both Cobra Baffler DWS.

Judge it by the results, if your gaps are what you want and you hit it solid leave them alone. I used to play a 4 hybrid I had 1/4 inch over and a 3 hybrid 1/2 inch over. Hybrid shaft length has increased since then so my current ones I left alone.

Sounds like you could keep your 5i. You could shed the 3i and either keep the 4i, or dump it if it's not reliable. With no 4i, you could choke up on the 5H a little to shave off distance between 5H and 5i.

You didn't mention what iron lofts you have, so you'll just have to test things out. Also, what FWs do you carry?

Suggestion: Put a What's In The Bag segment in either your sig line, or your lists. That way, we can tell what club mix you carry, and maybe give  better advice.
