Ok I got an r7 quad ht cheap about 5 years ago r so with the aldila nv r65.Thing is Ive never really got on well with it and hated the high kick point shaft.I then tinkered with the idea of buying a new driver but didnt think it would be worth spending so much so just recently bought an nvs 55 x cheap to try because I like cheap and prefer lower kick points.  Ive only tried it once and it diffenately has helped forgiveness as I thought it mite even though I was swinging it terrible.  However it still has a slight tendancy to balloon even with the x stiff shaft.  I got an f2 3 wood in the voodoo shaft regular and absoloutely love it the shaft is perfect.  So do I just pick a driver head I like and get that shaft put into it? im thinking of the supertri its bigger and more forgiving? would that work I will try my best to test it but things like that are scarce.

Have you been fitted before so you know what shaft and head characteristics fit best for your swing? There are a fair amount of variables present so it might save you $$$ in the long run with getting something properly fitted for your swing.

No ive never really been fitted properly.  I have used the thing once though (5 years ago) and hated it simply because im hitting into a net with ppl watching with no warm up shots etc, it said I was hitting a 7 iron 175 yards and back then that wasnt possible. My swing speed with driver was 100 avg.  There is very very little I can try over here and there is little choice in shaft selection if any.  I really do like the voodoo its perfect in my 3 wood I dont really like the look of the 909 driver though otherwise probably woulda settled on it.  I tried the vr pro in a fubuki shaft and its ok feels nice and springy but would probably hit it better with the voodoo but again that wont be possible so I dont know.  Is there really a lot of differences in heads?I like the super deep but i cant try it with the voodoo I dont know what to do.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
