If you had to play One Golf Course for the Rest of your life, what Course would you Play? I Would Play At the Home Of golf, St Andrews.

Not sure I'd want to live there. I take a wild guess (having never played it) and say Spyglass.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

Spyglass, great choice.  Anywhere in Monterey is a solid pick, I will have to go with another Northern California gem and say the Lake Course at the Oympic Club.  Going on record here and saying the winning score for the US Open there next year will be +6.

Driver: Taylormade Burner TP (2007 model)
Fairway Wood: Callaway Steelhead III 4+
Hybrid: Sonartec MD 19
Irons: Mizuno MP 33s  4-PW
Wedges: Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedges: 60, 56, 52Putter: Odyssey DFX 9900

If I would have to pick one that everyone knows of I would say Oakmont...I've been there multiple times and it is just a stunner and I spot something new on it every time.

A course that not many people have heard of is a local course, Lancaster Country Club.  The 2015 Womens US open is going to be held there.  There is three sets of 9 (two of the sets make up the old course, and there is a new 9 known as the highlands) as well as a 6 hole practice course.  It's a very old course, designed with old techniques with greens up high and long slanted fairways.  If you get a chance to look up the course, take a look...

This is a tough question as I suspect the course I would pick is one I haven't played (Cypress Point, PV, Sand Hills or some other exclusive course that I have almost zero chance of playing not to mention playing for the rest of my life).

Of courses that I have played Pebble would be the obvious choice especially if I get to add Spyglass, Spanish Bay and Del Monte as they are the same resort. I also like this choice because it gives a variety. This decision might change and will at least turn into a tougher question next month after going up to Bandon (it might even be easier to justify as a single pick as the courses are all next to each other).

If we are going to limit the choice to one course instead of one resort I may choose The European Club as its a top 100 in the world and you get an extra 2 holes ;)

Given the cost of traveling and limited play issues, it would have to be a fairly local course (assuming that I don't move too far away in my lifetime).

Possible picks would be (in no particular order):

Wingfoot

TPC Boston

Bethpage - Black Course

Pine Valley

Liberty National

Shinnecock

Belgrade Lakes

Lake of Isles

    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
