Firstly im new here so would like to say Hi to everyone.

I havnt been playing golf for very long...about a year all in all.

I am having a big problem with straight slices and every now and again pushes with all my clubs except my 9 iron, PW and SW.

I have been to the range quite a bit lately and managed to hit a few draws BUT that is on the range and it changes completely when im out on the course!

Went to the course yesterday and consistently straight sliced or pushed my shots. I tried a weak neutral and strong grip and none seemed to help.

On the downswing I feel like my hands have moved into an open position from the cocking of the wrists which makes me turn my hips further ( see next line below)

At impact i feel as if my arms and hands and club are behind me (my hips have spun too much towards the target) and i cant release the club and till WAY after I have hit the ball.

I also feel if I lead with my hands through impact I cant square my hands.

Like I say this is just the feeling im getting, I will try and get up a video sometime soon, but for now does any know any drills that could help me with this?

Hope that all makes sense

Darren

Darren,

I'm a beginner too & had exactly your problem when I started last year.     I heard about the Stack & Tilt swing here & did alot of research on it online - there's tons of videos on youtube explaining it.      One of the first pages in the S&T; book says if this swing was popular years ago, there would be generations of players drawing the ball & not slicing it.      It totally worked for me - my slice is GONE !!       Amazing actually - give it a look (main point to it is to keep your head centered during the backswing - helps to keep your weight forward).    Good luck & go S&T; !!
