so i haven't played in like a month, and i just went to the range yesterday...damn. i looked at the film and im dropping the club inside and all that stuff, but it looks like i still come across the ball a little bit. i have no clue why, maybe im over rotating my hips. Help?

I'd say you're probably just swinging too hard. When you come back from a layoff, you should always take 1 or 2 extra clubs on shots and really focus on making a solid swing, not trying to hit anything too hard. You need to feel the clubface and clubhead again.

Try swinging hip high and then through and catching some in the middle of the clubface. Then swing your way into shape.

Thats great advice Konrad. The only thing I would add is, on those hip high swings make sure your hips start the downswing and just let everything else fall into place and follow.

Along with the advise above I would say the most important thing to focus on when you come back from a lay off is your balance.

Your balance will affect your plane and vice versa.

Equipment, Setup, Finish, Balance, and Relax. All equal in importance and all dependent on each other. They are the cornerstones of a good golf swing.
