From the vlog thread:

Its not perfect, but here it is.  I had a week off from work and a bunch of tee times around 5:30/5:40am and was usually the only one out there.  On this day of course, they wanted to pair me with 3 other guys, but I negotiated an early release to get out there on my own.  Anyway, I had to rush the first two shots, to build a little cushion.  Also the picture is sometimes crappy since there are no do-overs and I wasn't really reviewing them after each hole.  Some of the putts where I left my camera in my cart are almost impossible to see.

A couple of thoughts on doing this vlog:

Its not nearly as cumbersome as I expected.  I felt very rushed on the first hole or two but after that it went really smooth and easy.

I think I played better because the camera made me focus on making good swings on every shot.  Knowing you all would see this kept me focused!

I used my phone and a gorilla pod, but since I was riding I had to put the phone on the ground whenever I couldn't get a cart in the right place.  Next time I'd bring a tripod

I didn't have any issues with batter power, but I did have to start trimming my videos on the course and deleted apps to avoid running out of space.  A normal 8GB card isn't quite enough, and I had cleared off all my old pictures and videos.

It's really cool to have a video of my best round!

Hit some balls on a trackman today to try to figure out my shots zones.  I'll post them a bit later, but here's the summary data without the dispersion.  Its quite sobering.  I lost a lot of clubhead speed.  When I got my driver the flightscope was giving me pretty consistent 101-102.  That was probably 2 years ago.  I'll have to find the data from when I was fit for irons, too.

Anyway, here it is.  I thought I had another 10 yards or so on each club, but I also know I was coming up short more often than I'd like, so this seems about right.

those aren't listed in order, but it looks like this:

Club Carry Total
Driver 212 246
3w 195 223
3H 168 194
4i 155 180
5i 155 170

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
