Anyone know why he was DQed?
Did he drop or was he actually disqualified due to a rules infraction?

i also noticed the DQ, but he did complete the round so my only guess is that he might have signed an incorrect scorecard..... maybe.... but im not completely sure! it should mention why on the pgatour.com tomorrow

It was the scorecard, incorrect number on the card.

The media doesn't say much about DQ's. I'm guessing it's in the contract with the PGA not to disparage the idiocy that abounds with some of the officiating at tournaments.

My immediate example would be the two players who were DQ'd at the open a few years ago because the official at the start handed them the wrong scorecards and they were too focused on their games in the biggest tournament of the year to notice they were marking on the wrong card.

Or Kevin Stadler being tossed out at Las Vegas in '05 - a move that cost him his tour card for '06 because an official noticed a damaged wedge in his bag and called him for an altered club.

JEEZ.

I noticed in the qualifier for Senior Q-School in California six players were DQ'd on the same day. I never saw a mention of why. I wrote the association to ask, but got no response.

Bury me with a golf glove in my pocket - just in case!

I opened a new thread regarding the fairness of a disqualification due to incorrect scorecard... and it seems that most of the forum users agree with the fact that if a player does not pay attention to what he/she signs or mark on his/her scorecard, he/she is 100% responsible and needs to pay for any consequence of his/her mistake.
