I swear this game likes to mess with your mind... don't know about you guys, but when I'm driving the ball well, I could kick my iron shots further, if my short game is clicking, I might as well just drop a ball 50 yards into the trees, my tee shot is going to end up there anyway. Anyone else experience this on a regular basis? It really makes you respect what the Tour pros can do week in and week out, even if their not playing their greatest golf.

I think that everyone learning the game goes through that phase. I remember that same complaint.

You probably have a few swing flaws (e.g. looking up, casting the club, improper weight shift, poor alignment,  pulling your shoulder etc...) that pop up in your game, but don't recognize them and can't correct them. So, instead of rebounding after a few bad shots, the mind gets even more in the way and things go downhill from there.

But, alas, that is the real bite. Just being uptight about what is going to happen is enough to do you in.

There is hope.

Lessons and a Driving range.

And, just remember, the game is complex, frustrating, and enjoyable. That's why we love to hate it.
