I have been playing golf since I have been 8 years old.  As of lately I have not been able to hit my irons without having a bit of a strong fade.  What is going on??? I keep my left arm straight and turn at the pelvis for more tourqe in my down swing.  I hit my 5 iron about 200 yards but at the tail end it starts to fade strong... Help, I have tried several different grips and moving the ball around in my stance and cant figure out what is going on???  I seem to be hitting a push draw and a strong one at that.  I feel like I have been trying to lift the ball in the air which is not a good thing because that adds a lot of un-needed energy and twists the planed swing.  HELP!

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,

Ian

Could this be that the offset in my Callaway razr x's is to much of a beginner club?  I strike the ball pretty well and feel like i might need something of a forged iron???

A trick I've shown to other golfers that had a tendency of lifting the ball in the air was to put a tee laying down in front of the ball approximately two inches along the target line.  Ensure you make contact with the tee on the ground (I'd use broken tee's found on the range), this will help you to focus on sweeping through the impact point.  Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks Makana81,  I have also used this trick but I guess it is time to go back to the old ways I was taught to swing.  This will also help me probably slow my swing speed down and make it more methodic and aligned!

I was thinking that it might have been the higher offset on my new clubs, I might need more of a blade....

Thanks!
