I'm dubious, but curious. It's pricey, $7, and very little is said about its secret techniques. Also sounds like a laxative app, ha ha :-)

Never heard of it. Is it all about sound? I've tried some of those programs, and they haven't impressed me that much...

I have made one hole in one this far. While you are reading this, I am most likely out on the tee trying to sink another one

I dunno, it's a total mystery what the heck is in there - is it textual, audio, video? There is no info.

Read it. It doesn't say much. App store shows no salient screenshots.

Sorry for the mystery. Maybe we need to rework the description... Here is some more info from a recent interview I did with Golf Digest: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-equipment/blogs/newstuff/2011/06/golf-apps-relax-visualize-play.html .

It will not turn you into Rory McIlroy or eliminate every bad round for the rest of your life, but is light years ahead of the alternatives which include reading all of the right books, taking to the right folks, or going through the process of becoming a championship level golfer.

The potential benefits to you and your game far outweigh the cost, but like all things it will work better for some than others.

Thanks,

Spencer

Ah right so blast you with theta waves to relax you and then you can visualise your golf better. Still seems pretty steep for something that basic.

The relaxation is just the first part. The second part is completely golf focused: balance and timing, course management, self management, target focus, and others. The visualization is from my experience playing NCAA Division I college golf. Like all golfers who have played a long time and at a high level I've read a lot of books, talked with a lot of people and tried a lot of different things. These are the things I found to be most helpful and are consistently utilized by the top level players.

As for the price, it's less than a large bucket of balls ($8) or a Subway Turkey, Bacon, Avacado sandwich ($9). With the currency conversion it's even cheaper in the UK at £3.99. Can you get a good bangers and mash for £3.99?

Thanks for the description. Sounds intriguing. I might give it a try. If not for golf, it might help with insomnia. With respect to books and videos, it's not that much, I agree - the $1 app has really done a number on price expectations.

Absolutely seriously your paragraph on bangers and mash made me laugh enough to give this a go, even though I currently use a theta wave relaxtion app and separate golf mental projection.

Does the app itself focus your thoughts on one of the above areas of golf (self management or target focus as an example) or does it cover them all in one session? Or does the app tell you the types of thoughts to have running through your mind once you're relaxed?

@nevets88 Great. If you decide to try it let me know how it works for you either by email: info@prajnu.com or through our Visulax Apps page on Facebook. I appreciate your feedback and am considering revising our description in the App Store so it's clearer.

@MiniBlueDragon Cool. I'm not sure how it will compare with what you are currently using, but would be interested to see what you think. The cool thing is it covers everything. The visualization portion starts out with you visualizing your best shots with different clubs, gives you some techniques to block out distractions and deal with anger, then it walks you through how to play a hole (course management/target focus), then comes the high level stuff (Hint: Content was inspired by the golfer with the most majors ever won), you might fall asleep by the time you get to the high level stuff, but it should still work.

One thing. I do find. Frustrating about. This app. Is that every. Sentence. Seems to be broken. Into smaller. Sentences. I don't know if. This is. Intentional. But it's a little. Distracting. To say the least. When you're trying. To relax. And listen. To the words. ;-) Other than that the app seems to do what it says on the tin. I'll be using this every day for the prescribed 21 days and then reporting back but I have faith it'll be good news based on how much happier, more relaxed and positive I am after that one session. Any plans to have multiple voices in the app or to re-record in full sentences (assuming it's not intentional)? I find girls to be more relaxing to listen to than guys. :-D

Sorry I haven't had a chance to reply. The speech pattern is intentional and is part of what helps you get into a relaxed state.

Glad to hear you are happier, more positive and relaxed after listening to it.

We may add more voices/languages in the future. I agree girls can be more relaxing to listen to than guys.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
