This is too funny!  I have had the Titleist 755s for about 4 years now, and I just ordered the 710 AP2s about a week ago.  I just got them yesterday, and I am going to hit them for the first time tomorrow so I well let you know what I think ASAP.

Thanks. The reviews make them both sound great, but obviously the 755 review was not comparing them to 2011 irons. I live about 2 hours from a decent golf shop and unfortunately make most of my purchases based on reviews rather than my own testing. Too much trial and error for sure.

I play the 755s and asked Titleist the same question.  They replied by saying the AP2(710) is a replacement for the 755 in terms of playability and performance. They recommended the CBs to me if I were looking to upgrade to something more along the lines of more control/less forgiveness.  I love my 755s.

I have tried both the Titleist 755 as well as the AP2.  I found that my Ping Eye 2 irons performed much better, especially the long irons.  However, if you decide to get either the 755 or the AP2 I would go with the 755.  Better iron for the better player.  That is all.

I hated the shaft in my Titleist 755 irons and that was the main reason why I went out and got the (710) AP2s.  I got my AP2s with the DG S300 shaft because the 755 where ballooning way too much on me, and the DG S300 has a lower more boring trajectory which I love. I just got out and played today with the new sticks for the first time, and I already can tell I made the right choice.  I love them!  In regards to the review, I would say that the they are similar in the terms of playability with a slight edge to the 755 for workability.  With feel/look/sound, the AP2s blow the 755s out of the water in this area.  I have never hit an iron with such great feel at impact.  It is like a hot knife through butter.  I would have to say that only after one round and one range session that my new AP2s are gonna stay in the bag for a long long time.  They are the perfect blend of forgiveness and performance that any serious player should consider to give these irons a test run when are deciding to purchase new irons.

    • During league night on Wednesday I had a bit of a lightbulb go off and I struck my approaches well all day. But the best one was a Gap Wedge from the fescue on hole 16.   Crossed myself up on a tee shot that requires a fade. Instead I hit a slight draw into the fescue. (The fescue doesn't show up on the shotscope picture, but trust me, it's there.) I was left 109 to the flag. I hit a gap wedge to about 12 feet. Yeah, I missed the birdie putt. But didn't embarrass myself. Took tap in par and happily moved on to hole 17.  In all the time I've been playing this course. I've never played a ball to the left of the little tree shown in the top right corner of the bottom picture.
    • My game, for a lot of reasons is finally starting to improve.  I darn near completed the no sixes challenge this morning. I snuck out early today and played my home course. I was the first one off and finished in under 2 hours.  I hit 8 fairways and was just off on 4 others. Only 2 tee balls were what I'd consider wild. (I made a GIR from the next fairway over on one of them. 🤷‍♂️) I made 8 GIR's and had 8 NGIR's. I shot my lowest round since 2019 and didn't even putt particularly well. I had four or five really good birdie chances and didn't convert any. I also missed one well inside 3 feet on 13. That one hurt. Oops.  I played really well on Wednesday. Shooting a +1, 37 on the back nine. I birdied 2 of the last 4 holes. My approaches are where I'm seeing the biggest difference. I think the swing I've been working on for the past few months is starting to sink in. Here is Wednesday's strokes gained vs a 5 HCP. I'm excited to play tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing if this is this the start of a parade or just a lone drummer passing by?
    • 6700 treelined course (72 rating). It was a good yardage for my distance, not his. It was an official mid am competition. He finished 2nd with 4 under after 36 holes.
    • Played Sunday at my home course and shot an 83.....with four 3 putts.   So that is at least promising.   Played Men' Night last night (9 holes) and was Even after 7.....but then had a tough bogey and a terrible double to finish +3.   Either way.....I like the way things are trending.
