Hi peeps..

Just got an add from a golf website selling the Orlimar ATS white driver for about $50 bucks.  What do you guys know about this driver?  Sorry if this driver has been discussed before, but I just joined the Sand Trap...

This driver is best compared to the titleist d drivers in looks and feel. The sound is similar to the r7. The distance and ability to hit straight is cobra s2. The price is in a league of its own. I bought one. It looked nice andfelt good. I hit 100+ at the range with it and straight is easy. I hit my r9 a true 290 and the old cobra driver about 305. This is about 285 to 295. Similar but occasionally longer than the r9. In a round on a course with tight fairways this will be my driver of choice. It is that good. Buy it and enjoy the value.

I bought one and have played 3 rounds with it.  Hits straight and long.  I really like it.  Plus it looks great at address.

Eh, it's going to be your run of the mill $40 driver. I sell the things. The Orlimar rep straight said they only did the white because it will now be our #2 selling driver because people will still probably buy the Taylormade one first. I have yet to sell one, but I'll ask the customer if they stop in again after getting one.  If we have a demo day where we try the products out I'll have to see if we have one available. The one thing that bothered me about it at address is the glossy white crown instead of the matte white that taylormade uses. They wanted to make it pop and seem like a brighter shade of white, and I guess the face and crown are going to be fade resistant so even if you hit shots, the material is actually that color instead of just being a layer of paint and scratching it off. I was swinging it in a convention center, but I think you might get glare off of sunlight outside?

    • Day 228 4-4 More hip/chest turn and wrist arching. Working on hinging wrist a bit later. Foam balls.
    • Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.
    • A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
