My swing is always evolving, but one thing that has been pretty constant over the past 3 or 4 years is that I open the clubface more than one would want upon takeaway and continuing as the swing goes back.  However, I'm hesitant to look at changing that since my ball striking keeps getting stronger and my stock shot continues to be a slight draw.  Any advice?

How is it you know that you are opening "more than one would want"?  At the top, the clubface is ideally 90* open to the swingpath.  Whether you open it early in the backswing, or later, is irrelevant.

If your shotmaking is getting stronger, why even think about changing anything?

To add to this, if you're not having trouble with clubface rate of closure or being too far open (or closed) shortly before impact, who cares what you do on the backswing.

It may be true - or even likely - that rolling the wrists causes some other compensations, but for now I don't know that I'd worry about it until you plateau. Or see an instructor and ask him if it's priority #1 right now. It likely won't be, though it may be in the top 3 or 5.

I recently had a lesson and my ball striking had been better then ever.. and I was doing exactly what you were saying.  Anyways basically the instructor helped me fix it.. my misses are essentially gone and I am an even more consistant ball striker now.  It's great, took about a week to fix and now my new swing is comfortable with very few repeating parts.  What I used to do if I did miss or was nervous with my older swing was big blocks or push fades (weird weird weird ball flight).. All those misses are going now! Exciting times!

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
