Hi All,

The answer to this might be nowhere, but I need to ask: I have to replace shafts on my 8 iron and my approach wedge, because they are graphite and my others are uniflex stock steel (don't ask).  I want the stock uniflex X-20 shaft, but can't seem to find them anywhere.

1.  Does anyone know where, or if, these shafts are sold individually?

2.  It looks like you can get an X-20 6 iron uniflex in bad condition for about $18.  Can I pull the shaft off a 6 iron, cut it down, and put it on an approach wedge?

Thanks.

If you go to Callaway Preowned or eBay you'll find replacement X-20 individual irons and wedges.  Prices vary depending on condition.  I considered re-shafting my X-12's and found the cost of the shaft and labor was about the same as a new club - $60 - $80 depending on shaft.

Since you're a righty you'll have an easier time finding replacements in good condition at a fair price.

I would phone Callaway customer service. The X24 Hot irons use Uniflex shafts; if the specs are the same as circa 2008, you could get a couple of those. X24 is no longer listed on main Callaway "new club" site, but X24-era Uniflex should still be available.

    • I never heard dislike for them.  From my perspective, they are just like any other club. Though, they were always probably over-priced, until recently as other club manufacturers have been raising prices the past 5+ years. You had to wait for them to go on sale, which you can get them closer to other club manufacturers.  They sell good clubs. Nothing crazy..
    • Why do so many people dislike PXG clubs and constantly criticize them? All the folks at my club and especially online, I never hear good things about them except from people who bought them and defend them. They look fine to me but curious is there some sort of quality issue or is it just stereotyping the buyers.
    • I have the LM1 launch monitor and I’ve been very impressed. I agree with your assessment and it’s very accurate for me and ease of use is wonderful. The price point of $199 is very hard to beat with this form factor and performance. I was previously using a PRGR.
