Spend 40 years shotting guns without ear protection and you will be fine, you'll not hear a word anyone says!!!!

I wish I had some insightful thoughts to block out that but I don't.  I'm able to put up with it because one, I don't hear well, you have to talk pretty loud to talk over the constant ringing in my ears, two, I'm sick, I reveal in other peoples misery.  I actually play better when I play with a whinner, no matter how bad a shot I hit it's not as bad as the whinner and that gives me confidence and I play better.  Even if they hit a decent shot and I hit a poor one, the whinning makes my shot seem better, again confidence grows and I continue to play well.

I'm not saying this works every single time, but I played a lot of golf with a lot of different people over the last 40+ years, and I too have bad days, but overall I'm able to tune them out.
