Hey Iam Phills biggest booster around here and I will admit he is or was a horrible driver of the golf ball.Well out he comes with a new FT-5 and he hits over 80% on Pebble?Hey if it is that good I hope the Mrs.has a sense of humor cause at 450.00 for his "TOUR Model" my credit card will be getting a beating.

hah, yeah $450 for the "tour" model is pretty steep. I hit my neighbor's FT-5 w/ a (GD YS+7) on the range Saturday and I really liked the way it performs I can move it left and right o.k. Not as easy to work as my K but I guess that's expected because of the huge difference in head size. However I don't think it's going to help me hit 80% of the fairways But I do think the COR rating should be "DEEP" (maybe it's 40 yards LOUDER than my K?) But I seemed to be hitting it further than my current 983k (maybe it's just old?) and that's fitted for me I'm seriously considering the FT-5 and the 907's (once I try them) as my new bigstick.

When the R7 came out, the TP was $500.... hell, it may still be that much. But, I know a lot of people bought them. Funny thing is, I bet that most people who throw down that much for a driver are bad golfers who think that the most expensive club will be the one that helps them out the most.....

I have been following the new square Callaway FTi with some interest which I believe Mickleson will be using in 2007.

For a novice golfer like me it is claimed to be very forgiving with a very high MOI rating.

Does anyone know when Mickleson will be adopting this and has anyone tried this club out yet?

Thanks.

Mickelson will be the face of FT5. In Asian regions Tongchai from Thailand will be the face for Ft-i.

I think it was $800. The r7 460 TP is still $600, I believe, and that was a price drop of a few hundred bucks from the $800 r7 425 TP.

Read somewhere that Phil is going to use the new Callaway square driver FT-i for 2007. Wonder how he will do with the square head ? Giving that he is driving so well now, dont know if it is such a good idea to swing unless he has tried and felt FT-i is better

He's using the FT-5. I had a chance to hit both the FT-5 and the FT-i (both non-Tour models) today and I liked the FT-5 much, much more.

The FT-3 headcover(s) were much better, though.

I'm a big Phil fan too, but let's hold on a minute!

Pebble Beach is a SOFT, WET course!

The roll is not getting away from him like it has at hard fast courses ie . . dry desert courses ie Bob Hope in Palm Springs, FBR Open in Scottsdale - even the US OPEN last year when he hit a 4 iron of one tee and still couldn't keep it in the fairway.

I watched him in San Diego at the Buick, and he is driving it much better, but no need to wake up Fred Funk to get him worried about his accuracy title.

Anyone tried the FT-5 Tour drivers yet? It should be out in the US already right? Please write some reviews or post a URL where we could read something about this driver. Also, how does the FUJIKURA E360 stock shaft perform? Thanks.

I bought a $450 Ping Rapture last October. Want to play for $$$?

I think Phil's breast reduction surgery in the offseason is helping his driving accuracy most. MyBigPutter

Does no one remember when the R7 Quad Tp was 1000 dollars.

A friend of mine bought it and he had to use a ratty headcover so people thought the driver sucked, the only way for it not to get stolen.

Phil is probably not going to use the FTi. He said he might use it at The Masters but i don´t think so. Of course there are adds with him hitting it, but that is just so people see Phil hitting it.
