Wedge game was disappointing today - Any advice?

Is it not possible to do both a chip and pitch shot using the same swing? I can chip and pitch using hinge and hold with a 54 degree, meaning I can land it softly or I can run it up...

What you could try is not to use the wedges but let it roll on to the green with lets say chipshots with 8 iron or so.

even if you mis hit the ball a little the result is still ok.

I used to do this during winter period because high ballflights bounce all over the place.

Otherwise try and hit down on the back of the ball, you should get the feel of this on the range first otherwise you will end up a couple of feet past the hole.

good tempo helps also. eccelerate at impact
