Stroke Shaving (Cheating)

Not sure if I can actually say people are cheating that I've been with over the decades.. I have witnessed many tho that just forget strokes on ugly holes.. I wouldn't say they deliberately wanted to cheat, as it was more of an oversight of a 2 foot chuck chip.. Even in my past I have had some rare ugly holes that I have to double and triple check my score.. lol   I have also witness many of "should of" stroke saves.. You know, the ones that someone has a 1.5 foot putt, and people walk up to give it a swipe and miss the putt.. Believing it was a gimmie anyways.. LOL

While I see a lot of "infractions", I hesitate to call it cheating because that implies intent.  These are the ones I see almost every time I play:

• gimme putts
• rolling the ball over (fairway and rough)
• offering advice
• playing OB like a lateral hazard

I refuse to do any of these myself, and in tournament play I will gently correct my fellow competitor. In regular weekend play I choose not to say anything: I have enough to worry about with my own game.  I'm as easy going as they come, but I do not tolerate intentional cheating and have been known to stand on a green and count my fellow competitor's score out loud for him.
