Hello from NJ

Hi all, Been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to sign up. I am a 32 year old beginner golfer that is _finally_ taking steps to take the game more seriously. I grew up in a neighborhood with a golf course, but never really took advantage of it. Me and some buddies would go hit at the driving range on occasion, and I got 'ok' off the tee with a 2 iron, but never learned a proper swing. Fast forward to my late 20's, I started getting more and more invites out to the course from friends and work associates. Needless to say, I was awful. No consistent swing, couldnt hit a wood or driver, always topping the ball, etc. I am now two weeks in with professional lessons (and a whole new swing), hitting the range a few times a week, and am looking forward to jumping back into a newbie friendly 9 hole course soon. Anyhow, this seems like a good community here, glad to have joined. :-)
