I am a young golfer (16 years of age) and I normally shoot in the high 90's to low 100's. I know that isn't very good but I have just started hitting my irons very well along with my driver. I believe another reason that I shoot high is because of the mental aspect.

During a round I tend to get down on myself after I make a bad shot or miss a short putt. Then I think that I stick the last shot in my head and remember it for the round. Maybe this is keeping me from shooting lower? Another problem I have is that around the game my chipping is horrendous. I either nail the ball to hard or I hit it very soft and I leave myself a long putt.

Anything you think I could do to help lower my scores?

All tips are appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon
