I've been scouring the posts to see if I could find info on the "eaiest" putter for high-handicappers. I know it's a matter of feel however, I hear there are other factors such as where the shaft is located, length, type of head, weighting etc.

My gf has a TM ghost mallet because she thought it "looked cool" and has been struggling since day one with it. We have been told that the insert on the face makes the ball come off the face "too hot" when she is within 10 or so feet. I know it's about stroke as well but, the pattern is the same no matter if she hits the ball well or not.

Any help is appreciated. Gotta pick a new one up by this weekend

Thanks!

Match the putter to her putting stroke. I like to be nearly straight back and straight through so a face balanced putter feels better for me. Her Ghost is face balanced. If she's an arc putter (the way most are taught) then putters with a bit of a toe hang are supposed to be better. I believe your putter has a bit of toe hang.

Odyssey makes lots of styles and several inserts that range from soft (White Hot) to firmer (White Ice) and a special insert for their women's line. The Divine line insert is in between the Ice and the Hot. I'd start looking at the Odyssey Divine line. They have a blade that is toe weighted and several mallet styles that are face balanced including a two-ball. I like the Rossie. Just make sure it is short enough for he eyes to be over the ball.

I just bought a TM Ghost spider(not a high handicapper myself) and I am in love with it. I find it almost impossible to go off line with it and the ball doesn't come off the face too fast. You can feel the putt really nice.

I feel the same about my new TM Ghost Corza.  I love how the balls comes off the face, and the alignment aides really help me take the putter back on a straight(er) line.  I'm lovin it!

Check out our line of putters, with our multi-rebound radial face inserts you will get the most accurate roll and distance control of any putter on the market. Check out our website and look at the videos of how our technology works.

    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
