Forgot how to hit the ball

i hate when this happens and its happened a few times to me, sometimes i just forget how to hit the ball. im in the middle of this right now and its so frustrating! i feel as though im just helping the ball around the course and not hitting it. my scores arent particularly showing it as i have a decent short game and scramble very well but its just no way near as fun to play! frustrating!

It happens to everyone there's no worse feeling on a golf course than having no clue where the next shot is going. All you can do is grind through it and hope you make a break through soon. Good luck...

I was in the same boat for about two weeks.  I then looked at my mental aspect and by changing it my game is coming back around.  Several people on the forum recommended some books on the mental aspect and I chose one called "Zen Golf."  It is a good read and has helped me.

And thats why i love this game! Getting through the bad spell and finding out you are actually getting better, i play in a society and we travel somewhere every year for a weekend, this last weekend we went to scotland and i absolutely walked it and cleaned up, i played the best i think ive ever played, hit 13 greens on sunday and did not three putt at all and finally have my confidence back in how to strike the ball rather than being all armsy and helping it around, i love this game at times!

It happens to me all the time!!!   I struggle with the shanks and I can shoot some weird numbers.  I can shoot 83 on saturday and followed it with a 70 the next day.    I know your pain.....
