I've seen plenty of things on this and I am looking for further advice and to find out which way is correct.

For those who are confused on the difference, I am referring to the wrist hinge as if you were at address and used only your right wrist to take it straight back, and a wrist cock as if you were at address and brought the club head straight up toward your head using your right wrist.

This video explains the difference at 1:20

I've heard people make an argument for each, but in my experience I find an early wrist hinge is better for me because I don't really have to worry about squaring the club face. Dustin Johnson has an early wrist HINGE if you're looking for a real world example.

What are your guys' thoughts on this idea?

That video contains some confusing misinformation at best.  I particularly like the part where he says getting "deep" (he lays the club off a bit) causes you to come over the top like John Daly.

I would say this:  you want to strive to make the simplest motion possible with your hands wrists and forearms.  The tendency, as a human being, is going to be to overuse these body parts in the golf swing.  Which is simpler of these two motions that he calls "cock" and "hinge"?  Most people would agree that cocking is simpler.  Building a solid golf swing really doesn't have to be any more complicated than, when given choices, choose the simpler of the two.

great! that second video made a lot of sense and reinforces what I thought was correct. Thanks!

The left and right wrists can do slightly different things if the hands are oriented slightly differently.  With a  neutral left hand grip and a weaker right hand grip, the right wrist will hinge more and the left wrist will cock more.  Something to consider.
