Just wondering if I would have any reason to think these are fake irons:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/180746250393?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649

I have bought clubs on Ebay before but just from "big" golf stores. But this guy has 100% feedback....I guess I am just trying to make sure Im not getting scammed...

Thank you all for the help

You never know...

Here's what I checked for these clubs: His feedback as a seller is good and it is a variety of clubs and items. The club's graphics look pretty good compared to Nike's site -- at least as much as you can see in his photos. The shaft is a stock offering. The clubs are new which to me is a bad sign.

Overall, the signs indicate you are likely OK. But again, you never know for sure.

I do buy on eBay and just bought a 5-wood and am watching several golf things now. I would bet (and did) that my 5-wood is the real deal. I got a great deal on a used club.

Yeah I checked out that as well. The things that bother me are that they are new, but they are from a US seller so I thought that was a higher chance of them being legit. He's feedback seems good. But he only shows the 5 iron which kind of bothers me too. I've had my eye on the pro combos for a while now though but the price is almost to good to be true.... Maybe it is...

If he is selling you fakes, he is going through more trouble than most. It seems clear that he is not in the business of selling fakes because he has sold too many used clubs and he only has one set exactly like this available. On the other hand, he could be re-selling fakes that he thinks are legit. That is always my fear.

Based on the "country club" story, it is just as likely that they "fell off a truck" as that they were fakes he got from China.

As for a too good to be true deal, there are two hours left and the price could change dramatically.

I buy and sell some clubs on ebay and never had any real problems. I looked at the add and it looks legit to me. He's sold several other golf items with good feedback. Sounds likes he works at a small country club and they sell some used clubs and overstock items and they have him list them because he has a ebay account.

This seems legit especially with his feedback.  I am sure he is selling inventory of the radar so he can pay the bills.  This way he can move them without drawing too much attention from the sales rep who would yank his account if he tried to sell these out of his pro shop below the predetermined range set by the manufacturer.

    • Day 125 12-15 Half swings with flow drill. Focused on rhythm, loading trail side then getting to lead side correctly. Hit a few foam balls but mostly drilling without ball.
    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
