Yeah, I can play in January...if I want to plunk down $100 & struggle to find a tee time amongst the tourists on a weekend...cuz I'm not playing after work during the week with it getting dark at 530p. So instead, from Nov thru March I just hit the range. A bucket of balls is $9 in August or February. Chipping & putting is free. And during the summer, that same $100 greens fee drops to like $20. So yeah - I play Grand Cypress...in July. Don't get anywhere near it in the winter.

Having moved here from northeast Ohio, I can tell you that it's just nice to know that i "could" play golf year-round if I wanted to. But it doesn't mean that I do. It's too expensive & too crowded.

We let the Canadians have the courses in the winter.

Doesn't that just drive you crazy? I live in Ocala, so we have more snowbirds than tourists and that's somehow worse. These guys are all retired, yet they feel the need to play on Saturday & Sunday morning. Every day is a weekend for you guys! Why do you have to grab the prime weekend tee times? I still play though because there is a great Muni 3 mins from the house. I just gotta get the earlies tee time possible so I'm not playing a 5hr round.

my get up and go musta got up and went..

I live in Maryland and, Mother Nature willing, I usually play throughout the winter barring heavy snow. As long as it is at least 40° I am fine with throwing on my thermal mock and winter hat and heading out for a good walk!

It's actually pretty nice then, too, as most courses are just about empty and you can really fly through.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
