somehow i have ended up with 3 different wedges in my bag. a RTG 52 degree cleveland 588, bob vokey 56 chrome, and a cleveland 900 60 degree chrome. as you just read, my setup has no consistency. i have been wanting to uniform my wedges but can decide which way to go.. the bob vokey is some what worn and i am beginning to think its time for a new one. what do you all think is better between the chrome 900 and a RTG?

Titleist wedges are the way to go. Check PGA club counts.

I really like the cleveland cg10's. But the vokeys gring the sole alittle more which is nice if you open the face up on those delicate chips. Just my 2 cents worth.

In the bag:
Driver- Ping g5
Cobra ss 3 wood
Adams 21deg. 7 wood
Cobra s9 irons 4-gw Cleveland 56 and 60 deg cg 10 wedges Nike Oz mallet. The first one.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with either Cleveland or Titleist. The 900 is forged whereas the 588 is not, but I think a lot people may find that one more versatile. Vokey's are great too. Really all boils down to personal preference.

Oh yeah - I wouldn't put much stock into what's in the tour bags. They a) are better than all of us and b) paid lots of money to use what they do.

Thats not entirely true, no matter what pro uses what brand, chances are the club they use is not the same club you can buy off the shelf. There is alot of custom bending and grinding going on, especially with wedges. If what you say is true then you would be using a TM driver not Titleist. Just because a club works for them that doesn't mean its going to work for you. I doubt you will go wrong with any wedge you pick as long as it works good for and looks good when you address the ball.

Is this about esthetics or playing better. If you think a change in wedges would aid your play go for it. Otherwise you could just have the ones you have refinished.? or by iron covers

no the bob vokey sweet spot is all gouged up and its probably cheaper to buy a new one than refurb it. its all about playing better.

If you want to try a nice wedge at a good price, look at the Infinity wedges online at Solid Rock Golf. The prices are great, and he builds them to your specs. You can discuss any issues with him via email, and order exactly what you want. The face milled IP-3 wedges like I have are sole ground so you can lay the face wide open to flop with the best of them, yet my 56° is great from the bunkers too.

I'd at least look there before you buy name brands.... the prices are good enough that you even afford to make a mistake...

    • Day 292: light day today. Mirror work, working on getting my hips more open in the downswing.
    • Day 135 (27 Apr 24) - played Bradford Creek today while waiting for the missus fly in from her extended visit with the grands.  Good day to stay focused as it was a hurry up (groups pressing from behind) and wait (groups taking their time ahead)…a good day to stay mentally in the game - play the shot and not get frustrated in the waiting…
    • Day 122: 4/27/24 Supposed to be a Stack training day but I was beat after yard work today. Practiced chipping and putting at The Creek. The practice green is pretty slow but the session went well.
    • Went to the range today and was cursing myself when I got there as I realized I forgot my phone. I added an earlier wrist hinge to the short backswing I was using last time practicing and ball strikes were really good for the most part. I'm heading back to Boston Thursday to see friends and family and have a couple of rounds planned so I'm hoping to keep this feeling.  Yesterday morning I weighed in at 232. My goal had been 230 but maybe now it's 220. I'll have to think about that. I feel so much better without the extra 90 lbs. from 2 years ago. Still a softl slightly less protruding belly so it might be time to go hard on eating better. Work in progress.
    • Day 7- Went to the range and hit a bucket. Also did some chipping and putting.
