Yeah counterfeit clubs are a problem, China is getting pretty good at making them too.

Unfortunately rumor has it that many of the same foundries that produce club heads for Titleist and Callaway, actually produce additional club heads with the same design and different branding under names like "Xtreme" or "Fire" or "Turbo Power" or "Tiger", etc. A local in town that builds clubs swears by the quality and argues that they are essentially the same club. However, I have seen several of these clubs snap right at the hosel on clean shots. Talking the same person with a full set, snapping multiple clubs out of the set with an 80mph swing too.

Just be very careful when you purchase clubs online. You really do get what you pay for and that goes for most products in life.
