For a very poor golfer (me), are there any advantages or disadvantages to using them? I think the concept is that the surface area is larger, therefore more forgiving on miss hits.

I have been working on the forward hip slide starting the downswing out in the garage this winter and after hitting probably 100 balls, my impact pattern on a PW doesn't look too bad..majority in center of club; biggest error seems  like I hit the bottom 1/4" of clubface too often. I put a skid plate about 2" behind the ball and finally am able to hit ball and not the plate.

Would I gain anything my losing the OS clubs or should I stick with them till I start shooting under 100?
