From what I can tell, that's a good swing. I don't see any flaws other than you moving your head back a little.

I think you need to post a video of your side. That will help me analyze your swing better and give you some good advice.

After reviewing your video again, you also need to extend your arms after impact. You lose control of the ball when you don't extend your arms during your swing. Your arms must be fully extended at all time during your swing.

Shaft parallel to the ground was just the checkpoint, also called A2. http://thesandtrap.com/t/53724/the-ps-positions-in-the-golf-swing

Clubhead is going inside the hands early and then you lift the arms, have to make compensations from there.  Arms/hands have to go inward a little more with feeling little forearm rotation.  The rotation is getting the clubhead low and inside.  Like I said put a tee under your left arm, if the arms go out, the tee will come out and the forearms will rotate too fast.

alright i see what your saying thanks. do you think this would result in a slight pull/hook because thats been my miss the past week. its a pull/hook that is bearable but definitely taking off a few strokes.

Yes if you're are rolling the forearms too much on the backswing, you have to come close to trying and match up that excessive motion on the downswing.  From my experience players will overcompensate and get the face pointing too far the the left, pull.

Good swing. But on impact on your first video, I do see your hands flipping. Make sure your shaft leans forward on impact. You'll compress the ball more and gain more distance.

Ryan

    • That’s totally fair. I have my chipping issues which make my putter more playable in that situation. Really just confirming that while not optimal there comes a point where if you need to use a putter (for whatever reason) then the optimal mechanics breaks down. I know I’m a sample of one. 😂
    • Day 329 - 2025-08-26 Hit 24 balls before lessons and JEP Summer Session. With the MP-33. 🙂 Put an undersized grip on my VR Pro accidentally.
    • Well, that's not really a putt at that point. You could easily choose to putt that up the slope with a hybrid or something.
    • Day 15 (August 26).  I missed practice yesterday, but otherwise had a 14-day streak going into it.  Somehow, some of my posts for this appear in my profile but I can't seem to see them (I hope I didn't break any rules that would cause them to be removed).  I am hoping I'll be able to keep doing some practice while I'm out to regain the red text.  Context:  am on vacation, this week with friends.  What was today's actual practice? Today, a friend and I decided to go to TopGolf;  it was kind of like being at the range with someone else's clubs.  And that's ultimately how I was able to use it for practice:  I don't practice choosing a target, lining up to it, and then hitting often enough;  that's what this place seems to be about.  In any case, we were there for 90 minutes, I was hitting for maybe 35-40 minutes of that time, and I did pick a target each time.
    • Day 2 - (26 Aug 25) - Church men’s golf nine hole Captains choice.  Had grandson as part of our group - was a blast watching him drill the putts.  Love these no pressure sessions - great for going outside the norm on club selection.
