preowned Skycaddie from ebay. question

There are some good sellers on ebay that are putting out "certified, preowned" gps units.

I'm just wondering if anyone has picked one of these up and if the units are legit? By legit, I mean if you bought one and then went to skycaddie to get started with a subscription would it work or would they accept it?

Some auctions for these units go for a pretty low price so I'm interested.

I bought one from a regular guy and not certified. When I tried to register and download courses it told me that it was registered to the old owner so I could not download. I called their customer support and they had me fax a receipt to prove I bought it. Then they reset it and I was good to go.
