Nice, I can see USF from my Apt. are ou still in the area?

Yes...it's a shame that USF GC (The Claw) isn't in better shape. I play a lot of golf in Tampa...Babes Zaharias, Westchase, Heritage Isles, Heritage Harbor, etc...

My group likes to go to Orlando, too. We are playing OCN (Orange County National) this weekend.

I actually posted the Claw as one of my worst home courses. I like the design, but the upkeep and the time to play is horrendous. I played Babes Zaharias a couple of days ago. Heritage Isles is fun to play from the blac/blues. a lot of trees to hit over *or tree clearings*. I bet ive seen you out there before.

If you've played the Babes on a regular basis...you probably have seen me there. We usually play first thing in the morning Saturday or Sunday. I'm the short Filipino guy smoking cigars.

Just a question that I've been wondering about since USF clobberd my Heels in football last year -- hows come the University of South Florida is NOT in South Florida?

I play with a Bill, but he's just bald...not a retard. What makes your Billy a "retard."

Well he's not our billy. Let me expalin. We went out there as a threesome one day and the starter goes..hey do you mind if this guy plays with you. We were trying to keep it a private game and we said we didn't want him in our group..( we didn't know he was retarded at the time, we just didn't wanna fourth) he asked us again and we said no again. The starter ends up stickin him with us anyways...we are not going to complain, So billy is now golfing with us..(he only plays for 9 ,the starter said) we start trying to make basic convo with this guy and he was Aurtistic(sp?) or somthing. he could interact with no social skillz. and when he tried to talk he studderd like crazy and dind't make any sence..we bought him a drink and stuff to try and calm him down..It kinda threw all our games off. we would park the cart next to his ball and he would sprint about 40yds off into the distance, WTF..he wasnt a bad player..he had a john Daly swing, but always over hit it when he got close. anyways, yeah, thats billy and our only experience with him.

I think of the Tampa area as my second home; we vacation there practically every year. Love the TPC, and since we stay down by St. Pete Beach area (actually Isla del Sol) I also enjoy Bardmoor. Nothing like a good round of golf during the day then going back up to have a fine meal at Berns Steakhouse!

My group likes to go to Orlando, too. We are playing OCN (Orange County National) this weekend.

While Orlando is chock full of extremely nice courses obviously, if you ever get a chance to drive a little further East to DeLand, play Victoria Hills if you haven't already. My wife has a childhood friend who lives just around the corner from it and her husband took me there; wow.

Hey Guys, I live in Lutz and play all the courses you mentioned except the Babe. I won't play there as long as Kenny, the head pro is there.

Have you guys purchased your Paradise cards yet... Check it out, it's well worth it.

PM me if you're interested and I'll give you our group # for a discount.

What did you think about Terrace Hill? There are a few funky holes but for the most part if you leave your woods in the car it gives you work on your long and short irons. Also the course is actually USGA rated...

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
