Shafts:

What are the main difference specifcally related to ball flight between the two shafts?  I have a big draw from playing hockey growing up and I'm looking for something to flatten my ball flight out...any suggestions?

Irons:

In the market for new irons...looking at Titleist AP2, Mizuno 52/57, and entertaining the idea of the Adams IDEA irons [gun metal in color idk model].  Any advice on those?  Currently playing with Titleist 762 DCI and liked them but they're time has run out and they just feel dead compared to when I hit one of these newer irons.

Thanks in advance!

Project X are frequency matched, while DG shafts are more swing weight based. DG will hit the ball lower than Project X at equivalent shaft stiffness. Project X Flighted will go a bit higher than that as well, but overall, through out the clubs flighted should produce very similar heights. If you have trouble hitting longer irons higher, flighted might be a good choice. I find Project X to have more feel than DG because they are not stepped.

I am not a fan of the project x shafts. I feel like I am hitting rocks with these shafts. It's like playing a blade. The DG shafts are so much more forgiving and the feel is like none other.

Got to go to the GolfWorks club fitting and assembly school a couple of weeks ago. We got some details on Project X shafts. The flighted PXs basically have three different shaft templates: a lower-kick shaft for 2-3-4, a mid-kick shaft 5-6-7, and higher kick shaft for 7 on up. Lower kick gives a little extra lift to the longer irons, and higher kick prevents short irons from ballooning.

Also, the PX 6.0 "stiff" shaft varieties tend to be a little stiffer than the DG S300 "stiff." In a related thread called "Shaft Numbers," I posted a Flex chart from GolfWRX.com which compares TT Dynamic Gold, PX (now owned by TT), and KBS shafts using Frequency Coefficient Matching (FCM). • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
    • Day 23: Rained all day, so no ball hitting. Worked indoors on top of the backswing feel, and also putted around the living room working on bead.
    • Played Four Oaks in Dracut today going back to the 2 man scramble match play format. My brother and I shot a team 81 winning 3 and 2. Had so many good shots today using a more centered turn. Seems to have really iginited my golf game. We'll see if I can keep it going.
