How much time do you devote to practicing...

At the range - full swing
At the range - half swing
At the range - pitching
At the chipping green
At the sand trap
And putting

I have been trying to devote about 3 total hours to practicing each week and really trying to practive with a purpose...playing situations, different lies, etc...but it seems that as soon as I go out on the course Mr. Inconsistency comes out... So honestly how much do you guys practice each week, day, etc...

At the range - full swing - If I'm just swinging away at a club, then I'll almost always hit a full swing. I'm probably practicing that club, not my swing. I do this maybe two thirds of the time--I go with the intent of hiting most of my balls with a particular club, so I can improve on it, and hopefully find out what I'm doing wrong. At the range - half swing - Almost never. I should practice punch and flop shots more, though. Just today, I needed a punch to get it out of the trees, my result was a topper. At the range - pitching - I've only hit an entire bucket of balls with my wedges one time this year, but it was certainly worth it. At the chipping green - My local range doesn't have one. I put 2 or 3 buckets at 20, 30, and 50 yards (give or take) and fire at the buckets, instead. At the sand trap - Range doesn't have one. I don't have a problem with sand shots, anyway. And putting - None, although the range is putting a putting green in, within the next couple weeks in fact. I desperately need this and you can probably count on me spending an entire afternoon there. (I shot a 43 on 9 holes the other day, but with 22 putts...so it doesn't take a genius to say I could be scratch if I could putt worth a shit.)

I don't break up my time quite like you wrote. I try to break my practice time into thirds. 1/3 full swing, 1/3 wedges, 1/3 short game and putting. I put putting and short game together as I tend to chip and putt at the same time. (Chip 5 balls at a hole then go putt them and see how many I get up and down.) Some people spend more time on the short game but I tend to get bored spending too much time chipping and putting.
