Hi,

I don't know if this is the place for this or not, but thought I would make the request. I have been playing off and on for 20+ years (2-3 times a year, hardly any practice). I have only been serious about the game for the past year since I joined a men's league. Since then I have been practicing a lot and trying to hone my swing. I have received some advice in the my swing section, but just a simple "fix this, try that". Since I have developed my swing my way, I have never had a good correct base to work from or work towards. When I use the term "base", I mean a good static starting point.  I feel if I had a good base as a reference point, I could work from there and make adjustments accordingly. As it stands right now, I don't have a good reference, or base, to try to work towards so I am unsure if the changes being made are taking me towards or away from a good swing. What changes I should be making to get me close to the correct base. Lessons are in my future, for sure.

Having said all of that could there be a forum section called "Basic Swing Mechanics" (or something to that effect), or a sticky in this section that would give a player (new or seasoned) the information on correct swing basic that could be a starting point, or something to work towards? I feel this topic, or section, would be invaluable to a player just starting out or trying to work towards a sold base swing that doesn't have a myriad of one sentence responses like "just open your stance", or "move closer to the ball". Although those do help, I feel the information is "empty", for lack of a better word, when in the context of what one need to ultimately work towards.

Does any of this make sense? What is the consensus on having a topic\section, for this information?

Thanks!

The problem is that there's going to be incredible disagreement about what the "right" "basic swing mechanics" are. So we already have a place for that - the Instruction/Playing Tips section of the site.

OK, understood. I guess I meant in a general sense, but I can see how the arguments would start.

The one thing I see is mostly tips, and not instruction in the literal sense of the word, or I just can't fond the ones strictly for instruction.

I'll just post questions as I need to, thanks!
