So I have seen these being talked about around the site, and I have decided to have a side by side comparison done. From what I have read, these are the two most popular GPS apps, and I think it would be worth knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each app compared to the other. So anyone who has used either of these, or preferably both, could give us a pros/cons list or something that compares the two, or just something you like about the one you use. Post away!

I looked into the Golfshot app and every review in the app store was 5 stars. From what I understand it works much better than you would expect considering its only $30. One person wrote he compared it with his brothers range finder and WHEN there was different results it was only by a yard or 2.

Figure out which apps have the courses you want to use... I DL'ed Airvue golf on my Iphone 4 for $10, took it out last weekend and it was ok, felt the distances were consistently 5-7 yards shorter than the distance stones and course markers were suggesting though...

I downloaded the free golflogix app the other day and I'm going to try it out today.  It's annoying with all the ad's and stuff but if i like it I will just buy the full app.

I dig on GolfLogix.First pulled it up when lacking an in-cart GPS at a course I was visiting and couldn't be happier. Great graphics, by far the most courses and some cool new features that just dropped last month. Best of all, it's free. I hear the paid membership is even better, but have yet to test it out.

Just upgraded from the free to paid app for GolfLogix and it's worth every penny! Love the new video flyover feature and the fact that you can track your club yardages and the software will average out for you to create your own yardage book. Anyone want to buy a Laser Rangefinder? I don't need it any more!

Golflogix is superior. Awesome that you can track your club yardages and the software will average out for you to create your own yardage book. Plus, the s corekeeping feature is so easy to use. Has knocked several shots off my handicap.

Golf Logix has every course I play, and I travel around the US on biz. Graphics are sharp, yardages usually spot on. Very quick, never crashes. Tracks club yardages and provides averages.

Both are good apps, but the new features from GolfLogix have it pulling away in my view. The changes they've made over the past year are really helpful and the app just looks great. Plus you can try it for free, can't beat that.

love that golflogix is free and the so many courses are included... keeping score is easy and helps me keep track of my game better... the aerial video and graphics are awesome... yardage is solid and reliable. recommend this for golfers looking for a good and easy addition to your game.

Which features were added recently?

Hi Mods, how about deleting these blatantly faked user "reviews". All accounts are posting their first post.

I think people can see that, and it's a line we won't cross.

I'd love to hear from someone whose tried both. I'm interested in getting one but I'm not sure which. I'll have to try golflogix free this weekend. I'll post what I think but I've never used golfshot

If you want the best, you will need the iPhone with Golfshots. They both have some of the same options and arboth easy to use. I have the Droid X with Golfshots and GolfLogix and I mainly use Golfshots even though the Droid version of GolfLogix has better features. Although GolfLogix has better features, half of them make the software freeze. I get tons of crashes with GolfLogix on my Droid. I can't get through a1 round without having 3-4 crashes. Even with all the updates, mine still crashes. I have emailed them tons of times with no response. Golfshots on the otherhand for Droid does not get all the good iPhone features. It is bare in comparison to  the iPhone version. I have never had Golfshots crash though. Runs perfect every time. Once Golfshots develops a Droid version that has all the features as the iPhone, it will completely run the GPS market.

If you have any questions, let me know. I know both of them very well.

But does golflogix crash on the iphone? And what features would make you want to use golflogix more if it didn't crash?
