Well, my problem is that I have a slice.  But the real problem is this:  I only have a slice with my driver!  Last year I consistently had a slice with my driver and my woods, but this year it has shifted towards only my driver.  I did purchase two new woods; a 3 and a 5 wood from gigagolf.com, the TRX Series.  I am absolutely satisfied with these products, and I have completely given up using my driver off of the tee, as I can hit the ball far straighter and farther with my 3 wood.  My driver is a Callaway Big Bertha (Modern style but not new by any means).  I just don't know why I could be ONLY slicing my driver and none of my other clubs.  I have listened to all of my friends' and my father's advice about this, but everything they have told me has no effect on my swing.  I was just wondering if any of you have had any similar experiences?  Maybe some advice?  I just know it is making me miserable not being able to hit a driver.  Thanks in advance guys and girls!

Two possible reasons either your swinging outside in and even though you think your not doing this i would get someone to video your swing just to make sure, as i was 100% sure i wasn't till i video mine. Second your club face is close at impact you could try a strong grip which should help you get the face to square at impact. Hope this helps.

Place a tee or a ball a couple inches behind the ball and an inch to the right. If you hit the tee you know you're coming over the top

A slice or a fade is just when the face is open to the path, not necessarily open to the target.  Try this to create more of a rightward path

Thank you everyone for the advice!  I just purchased a Taylormade Burner 2.0 Driver, and it really helped me fixed my problem.  I noticed that there were ball marks on the black club face whenever I hit, and I noticed the ball mark was always in the top left of the face.  So I moved my club a bit further out so the ball was on the inside of the face, and I teed the ball a bit higher and VOILA!  I also think a problem was my swing path going inside out possibly?  I try to visualize my club kind of "gloving" the ball now.  What I mean is, it feels like I am starting outside and coming in, but in reality, I am going perfectly straight because I was so accustomed to going inside out.  I hope I can remember how I accomplished this, because today was the first day I have hit my driver straight, consistently, ever.  I appreciate the technique video as well!  I am a 18-year-old and I am 6'3" 278lbs, and with my slice I could only hit it MAYBE 200 yards, and that was on a GREAT drive.  Today, I hit it 250-260.  With my strength, is this a reasonable distance?  My 6'1" 148lbs friend can drive it close to 240 consistently, and I was just wondering if I should be able to outdrive him a little better?  Just so I can say I am better of course ;) .  But again, thanks everyone for the advice!  I really appreciate it!

I cannot begin to explain how helpful that video has been to me. I just started playing and decided to try the stack and tilt swing method. This video alone has made me so much more confident. I do not slice nearly as often any more..when I do I am sure it has to do with me. I am far from an "expert" or even knowledgable Grooch but based on my experience 6'3" 270, I get about 250-260 as well..

Ugh, bad news!  I went to the range once again today, and my slice came back.  There was a wind blowing from northwest to southeast at about 20-30mph, and I was hitting the ball straight north. So, that probably made it much worse than if it wasn't windy.  I DID hit five or six straight as an arrow, but about 90% of them were slices.  Some slight slices, and some MAJOR slices.  I think I am going to post a video, what angle would work best?  With the front of my body facing the camera?

Yes or both, down the line and face on

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
