If you want something easy ... I think the Octane is easier.

I currently use a SF 5 wood and I love it, so I tried some 3 woods out earlier this week.  The first thing I grabbed was a SF 2.0 3 wood.  It was ok, but I think I am taking it off my list.  The Ozik 4.8 shaft in it was a stiff, but it felt like a wet noodle to me.  The SF 1.0 felt no different.  They had a Diablo Octane in the store, but I didn't have time to try it.  The Ping G15 3 wood I tried instantly moved to the top of my short list.  Not sure if it was the Serrano shaft in the G15 compared to the Ozik in the TM that was the defining difference, but the difference was night and day and made the decision easy.  These were hit off the deck on a launch monitor, and I sprayed the SF's all over the fairway unless I swung stupidly slow.

It's also possible I like my SF 5 wood so much because I have bastardized it by trimming an iron shaft down to between 3i and 4i stiff specs and bored the hosel out to fit.  It's like throwing darts.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
