I never put a value on it. I said I would try to get as much for it as possible because I know it will have sentimental value to somebody (it's real value is about $2.50 as it is a used golf ball at the end of the day) and that it would go up in value the longer I had it in my possession.

Golf at Augusta is a good answer. When it happened, my first thought was that if he won the tournament, I'd offer to trade him for a button off his green jacket (which he could easily replace).

I found a couple articles today that stated the fan got two lifetime Masters passes and one round of golf:

However, the author of the first only states he "learned from a reliable source" and the second cites no source at all, so take it FWIW. I haven't been able to find any other corroborating articles.

Regarding the value, reportedly an auction house made an offer via twitter of $20K, but only if Oosthuizen won:
