Got a demo day coming up with Titleist looking forward to hitting the new driver. I've got a 909 D2 but feel that I'm not getting the max distance out of it. I think I should be getting more but spin is causing the ball not to launch out of the club face. I'm looking forward to seeing all the data and been able to get fitted with the right shaft etc... Anyone have the new drivers and if so what's your feed back?

If you don't get enough distance with the 909, I doubt you'd gain a whole lot by changing to a 910. They are very similar. I would first look at launch conditions on a launch monitor and see what you can work on there. I've got the 910D2 myself. Tried out 5 different brands and landed on the 910. After a fitting process, I got the D2 with Stiff Rip Aldila shaft. Chose the D2 because of the slightly larger head, forgiveness and higher launch angle. You can check out a review of the D3 here: http://thesandtrap.com/b/clubs/titleist_910d3_driver_review

I had the 909D3. It was decent, but like you I wasn't getting the distance out of it. So I sold it last year.

This year, just a couple of months ago, I got the 910D3. I have the Diamana 'illama shaft.

I have the 9.5* and I adjusted the settings to a 10.25* and +0.75 fade.

My driver swing I have a lower ball flight. So that's why I have those settings. Now it's a nice boreing low to mid flight trajectory with some roll.

I really like the shaft too, it has a nice kickpoint.

My driver swing speed is 109.

Now I'm hitting it farther than my 909D3. I would say maybe 20yds longer.

It's a great driver, however, it's definatley louder than the 909 series. That's my only pet peave about the 910 series.

Looking forward to trying it out especially seeing if the shaft and othe elements can give me a better launch rather then the spin I'm getting. A guy I was playing with had one the other day he was creaming it and it was going miles.

Got fitted for the D3 cause I have a high launch and put lots of spin on it. I was recording over 7000 on the spin rate with my current driver. lol I was losing loads of distance. I managed to get the spin rate down and gained 20 plus yards so very pleased with that. I had felt I was losing a tone of distance with my other driver. The d3 is designed to have a lower launch and spin. Looking forward to getting it delivered and hitting it on the course. :)

Ya you will be happy with it. It's an awesome driver.

Here's a small tip.

I found that the 910s are a little loud at impact.

So recently, I just added 5 cottonballs inside the driver head. Taking out the weight screw, and stuffing it them in.

Now it has a nice little subdued "click" sound.

I got the d3 because of the more traditional head shape.  I think having the ability to tinker with it afterwards is fantastic, because the settings we ended up with after my 30 min fitting were not working the first time I took it to the range.  I think right now I have it set on 9.5* and fully upright (+1.5* I think)

I liked it so much, I've since bought the "matching" 15* 910f and 19* 910h.

I'm a Titleist ho so, of course, I've had both the D3 and the D2. I started with a 9.5* D3 which I liked well enough but the driver is my weakest club (i.e. the one I have the most trouble with) so I switched to an 8.5* D2. I have a naturally high ball flight so the 8.5* works well for me. I've had it paired with the PX 7C3. I picked up a RIP 60 stiff for it yesterday and will be trying that out.

Ya I'm a Titleist ho myself. LOL

Is your SC California Monterey the new 2012 one? I just got the new one myself and I love it! I had the Pro Platinum for almost 8 years, it served me well, but it was time for a new putter.

Nope, it's an older one with the "honey dipped" finish, which I actually like quite a bit.
