Today I went to the local golf shop and I was messin' around with some drivers & 3 woods. And although I really like my Titleist 910 D2 driver, Im a bit of a club *****, and I was thinking about some of the newer stuff. I tried the new Ping i20 and the new Nike VR_S. That PING i20 is badass!! and I do like the Project X shaft option. And the new Nike VR-S is also badass! Ive not been a Nike club fan until now. That ball comes off the new Nike face HOT!! You can really feel it pop off the face of that driver. While looking around in the used bin there was a Nike VR_S with an OBAN 04 flex shaft (stiff). Honestly, I dont know anything about the Oban shafts, but this one felt really good. Ive heard them mentioned, but I never really paid any attention to them. As of right now all I know is they are somewhat popular on tour and they cost a lot. Can anyone explain why they are popular on tour and so expensive? Haha

Basically Im not sure if I want to continue putting the Aldila RIP alpha in everything I buy, or if I want to move to a Project X or possibly an Oban. This pertains to my driver and 3 wood specifically. And I really need a new 3 wood the most. I dont need to switch, Im just curious… But whatever I get its gotta be low spin, mid to low launch. I know a lot of people like the Fubuki shafts, and hell they are on just about everything as a stock option these days, but im not really a fan, especially the "made for" models.

Interested to hear some opinions…

In my Ogio bag.

Titleist 910D2 driver, Adams irons & hybrid, Callaway wedges & a Nike Method putter.

And a yellow ball.

Did you type in "Oban shaft reviews" in Google?

There is a huge amount of info available.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
