I have watched Moe Norman hit many, many shots and although he swung on an arc, it was more vertical and his club head did stay on the target line longer than most players. He used to put steel washers on the ground approx. 2 feet ehind and ahead of the ball and try to swing the club over them. As far as target goes, Annika Sorenstam probably had the best idea especially with her wedges and shorter clubs as her eyes were on he target when impact was made. Try it, it works!
