I have been told the my down swing is from the inside but I still fade the ball and don't know what to do to fix it.

Can anyone tell me why this is and anything I could do to hit it straighter.

Where does the ball start? Does it start at the target then fade? Does it start left of the target then fade back? Does it start right of the target and continue that line? My best guess is if you're coming from the inside to out and you hit a fade you're club face is open at impact or you're hitting the ball towards the heal.

If they start right then curves more to the right it could be your grip.

To answer your thread title- yes.  I used to take the club really inside, loop it over the top, then come down on a reasonable plane making it possible to either fade or draw the ball.

However, unless you are hitting it right on right (for a righty), you probably are not swinging from the inside.  Based on my limited knowledge of the ball flight rules, if you are starting it at or left of the target and making it fade, you are likely swinging more out to in.

I used to be a slicer who went completely the other direction, far too much from the inside and swinging to the right resulting in a draw/hook/blocks. Working on swinging left helped me zero out my path and straighten out my shot from a draw/hook. Therefore, if you feel like you are fading too much, I would recommend the opposite. Swing to the target or to the right (basically less to the left).
