I have recently been offered the chance to buy a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport first of 500 putter.

It's a 35" right handed in stainless steel finish with 3 red dots

The condition is 8/10, the head cover is missing, and it has been regripped into a non-Scotty grip.

Can anyone tell me how much it is worth? Or where I may be able to get a replacement headcover for it that says first of 500 on?

I really have no idea what the value of such a club is, and am assuming the first of 500 makes it a little rarer.

Thanks

Scotty has a lot of 1 of 500 putters, so I'm not so sure it makes them any more valuable.  If it has been played and not in "NEW" condition I would imagine it is not worth any more than any other SS Newport putter.  As for getting the original headcover, probably your only hope is eBay or a Scotty collector site.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Scotty's seem like to behave a lot like watches...1 of 500 is not that big a deal.  Now 1 of 50 or 35, that is a bigger deal.  Like watches #1 or #500 is cool, but it's still one of 500.

Even less of a deal when the condition isn't perfect.  I would pay less than retail, especially since many of these models just have a different paint fill.
