Does anyone have any experience with Pentax DSLR cameras?

When it comes to cameras it all depends on what you are going to do with it.

If you are going to need big enlargements then lots of pixels is what you need.

If you are going to need telephoto lens, then get the best you can find.

But if all you need is 4 x 6 prints just about anything will do.

I did a lot of film work, even had my own darkroom.  I had one of the first 35mm SLR Pentax Cameras made and I still have it.  That was when the Japanese overtook the German market for cameras.

Now all I have is a small Canon someone gave to me and it suits my purposes nicely.

What I miss is through the lens viewing instead of trying to line up a shot through the back of the camera on a bright day.

I have a Pentax Kx, and for me it gave me the most performance for the buck. Good image quality, and Pentax lenses are rated fairly high. However, since Pentax is not a market leader, there is not a large assortment of quality after market lens options out there. I have been looking for a good telephoto lens that will get me closer than my Pentax 300mm zoom (which is the largest Pentax makes), and I have only come across 3 so far..

I went to a photo clinic at a place called the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford IL today. We had an hour or 2 short seminar on Macro and Landscape photography and then we were cut loose into this huge japanese style garden.  The other fun thing was that it was also a Tamron demo day so you could leave your license and rent lenses for an hour. I walked around with my own lens for the first hour and then I borrowed a 10-24 Ultra Wide because I had never played with one before and thought it would be fun. Turns out they aren't necessarily as useful as I thought lol. But either way, I put some of the pictures up so let me know if anyone likes some. We are supposed to turn in the best 3 pictures we took as kind of a challenge. I'm a horrible judge myself so I figured I'd see if the community could help me out a bit :)

Side note: The sky was overcast all freakin day so the sky in most pictures just looks like a blown out white mess....I didn't have a choice and post processing couldn't fix most of it so sorry if there are glaring white spaces in some :(

Thanks Maverick,  I'm half tempted to maybe not include waterfall ones just because there are so many waterfalls there and everyone was doing them, so there will likely be 50+ versions, but they really did seem to be some of the better ones :/

So I've picked up 2 lenses over the last month, one being the Tamron 10-24mm Wide Angle that I played with at the demo day, and the Pentax DA* 55mm F/1.4 lens that just came in the mail today :) Haven't been able to mess with it much but heres a few I've had with the wide angle.
