I was playing yesterday and one of the guys in our foresome got hit on the top of the head by a tee shot on a parallel fairway . It was a total accident and the guy who hit him felt terrible. It was a major hook that cleared the trees that sepparate the two fairways. It was pretty messy as the scalp bleeds a lot. The guy is ok, just a little sore.

I was hit three years ago. We waved a twosome up on a par three and I went and stood down behind the green. It dropped off big time behind the green so I thought I was safe. The guy air mails it and hit me in the thigh. My fault for not standing where I could watch the ball.

I've been blasted in the chest by someone's tee ball about 250 yards out. The f'n thing knocked me on my arse and left a welt for days, not to mention it knocked the wind out of me.

I have not, but I've seen people get hit. Once on a thin shot from a bunker. We didn't like the guy much, and it barely got him, so we weren't too concerned.

I've been hit into many times. I usually just wave to them while stepping on their ball to grind it into the ground. Subtle hint, I figure, and one that avoids any confrontation. The rules let them remove an embedded ball, so I'm not screwing over any matches, either.

I was hit by Curtis Strange at TPC but I was too young to really remember. Just have the story from my parents.

Well, I have luckily not ever been hit, but my closest call yet came about two months ago in my first round of the year.

I was teeing off going South, and the previous hole ran parallel to that one going North. The guy was hitting his approach I guess, and he shanked the hell out of it. By the time I heard him yell, I also heard the ball wizz by my head! It was weird because I had just bent down to put my tee in the ground, and if I would have been standing upright, I wouldn't be typing this right now probably. It was zooming for sure.

The guy felt really bad and apologized about 10 times in a minute, but I just told him I have hit my fair share of shanks and it could have been the other way around..

I play too fast to get hit. I've had to duck a few times to avoid errant shots, but I've never gotten hit.

And just my personal thoughts on the matter, but if you're getting hit into by the group behind you, and there is no one in front of you holding you up, well then I would think that would tell you you are playing too slow.

I was on a course last Tuesday with my brother where we were a twosome sandwiched between two foresomes and we got to the 2nd hole, which had a blind tee shot, and we hit our tee shots and had to wait for what seemed like forever for the foresome in front of us to finish the hole (short par 5) and here comes a ball over the ridge which lands like 5 yards behind our cart. I looked at my brother with the WTF look

Funny too, cause we sat there for another five minutes before someone actually came to see if they had hit into anyone. I think it would have been a waste of time to be negative about the situation too, because anyone with vision could see we were still waiting for the group on the green to clear.

But if I am on a golf course, and there is no group in front of me you'd be hard pressed to hit me with a golf ball unless you were extremely lucky and quick, cause I don't waste ANY time waiting, EVER! To me Chris DiMarco is slow!

I got hit into on Sunday. We waited on every shot and the twosome behind us was impatient. The carts have a GPS system. You can see the other carts on the hole with the distance to them. There is no reason to hit into someone at that point.

You know what they say about making assumptions, don't you?
