Myself and two friends played 18 yesterday, and decided to play skins under the presumption that it was scored similar to matchplay, but the skin from holes without a winner get carried over to the next hole.

We approach the end of our round, person A leading person B by one hole/skin. On the 15th, and then again on the 16th, person B (down 1) ties person C (out of contention) on both holes (person A was defeated on both holes). We then carried these skins over to the 17th, which person A won, clinching the match.

My question is , is it within the rules of skins for person A to claim all three skins, even if he was not one of the players who tied on the previous two holes? How would you have scored these results?

Thanks for your help

If you're playing skins with more than 2 people, it's generally "one-tie, all-tie", although this should be explicitly stipulated before the round. So yes, even it the player didn't tie one of the holes that led to carry-over, then won the next hole, he is entitled to all the skins.

Two tie, all tie is pretty standard for skins games.

Remember you do not have to carryover skins if it becomes a problem with your group. We don't carryover skins in my group, if we tie then that hole is a wash.

If you want to add something cool to your skins game try making skins winners validate the skin. What that means is if you win a skin on a hole then you have to make par or better on the next hole to keep it. It's a lot of fun and it leads to some tense situations!
