How to tell a fake putter

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to golf but I tried a Rossa Agsi + INZA at a local pro shop and it felt OK. I found out they were quite expensive for a beginner, but then saw one at the small pro shop at the club I joined (I'd class it as a fun par 3 course with cheap membership). They had this club for £30 so I immediately bought it. As I unwrapped it some of the grip came away with the plastic covering, I didn't think much of it but now the club face is deteriorating after only a month of use ( I will include pictures to show) I'm not sure if it's fake or maybe I just hit it badly and the damage is my fault. I would appreciate any feedback as a local pro told me a high percentage of clubs on the market at various places are fake.

Here's my rule of thumb, if the deal is too good to be true then it most likely is.  For 30 pounds you either got a fantastic deal (especially when buying new) or it is a fake knock off.  I am guessing the latter.

I'd bring it back and politely ask them WTF. The grip peeling off with the plastic wrap should have sent you back right away!

I agree, why didn't you immediatly bring it back right after taking the wrap off the grip, and saw it was jacked up?

You probably should not have waiting a month to figure out it's fake. But take it back and complain, I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Yes blinded by the 'good deal' and the fact that they only had one left, thought I could live with the damaged grip, which isn't actually too bad, but the club face set the alarm bells ringing
