Which grip is better the interlock or the ten finger grip? I used the interlock grip for a long time but had to change to a ten finger. A couple of months back I was playing in a two day tourney and after the first day my left pinky was really sore and swollen( I'm a lefty BTW). The interlock feels better but makes my pinky sore. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Or should I just learn to play with the ten finger grip?

Nether of them. The best one is the overlapping grip.

Vardon (overlap). It neutralizes the hands. I was interlock from when I began playing as a kid until about age 25. A pro told me I would never get better until I weakened my grip, and for me the interlock put my hands too far 'under' the shaft - too strong. I was always fighting a snap hook.

When I changed to Vardon I hit it like crap for about 6 months, then I started hitting it much better. Now I play a fade, but can work it both ways.

People are passionate about grips but I don't know how someone can say one is better than the others. It needs to fit your game. I play a weak grip so I use my hands a lot in my swing so neutralizing them is not what I want.

I use the interlock and I too had issues with my pinky (right pinky for me as a righty). I recently switched to Mid-Size grips to combat overall hand fatigue and soreness and I have not had a single issue with my pinky or my hands since. My handicap has also plummeted.

The most popular grip is the Vardon or overlapping. But yeah, it's impossible to say one grip is superior to another. The best player in my league (who normally shoots par or better) uses a baseball grip. I was shocked when he told me that. But, it works for him.

When I first started playing I interlocked, but once I started swinging and releasing the club properly as I got better, my hands were too active and I really started hooking my iron shots. So I switched to the Vardon and definitely neutralized my hands like others have pointed out.

You just have to find out what works for you.
