Tim Rogers of The Plain Dealer reports that Tiger has already committed to the Bridgestone Invitational in August.  Could this be a sign of confidence from Tiger?  Instead of waiting to see what form his game will be in closer to the tournament, he seems to have the feeling that his game is ready.  I think the confidence factor in Tiger is growing....and that is a scary thing for his opponents.

"This is the earliest Tiger has entered since I've been here," said executive director Don Padgett III, who will oversee the event for the sixth year. "Last year he waited until the Thursday or Friday before, which is his right. But, having him commit early is a plus."

I'll be there too. This is also the earliest I've ever committed. I love watching the approaches to the 16th.

I also hope to go as well, since I'm only 30 minutes from Firestone. The past 2 years, my buddy had VIP passes with drinks(beer/liquor/water/pop) and food included - with press conference access and autograph sessions. Unfortunately, I was not able to go the past 2 years because of random things coming up the day of!

This year, I better be able to make it....

He's won twice this year, of course he is confident. Plus, he needs "the reps" to get this "traj" going. :-D

He's won at Firestone 7 times (maybe 8?). He loves the course. Doesn't surprise me he committed early.

    • Day 1: 2026.01.03 Played 18 at Cape Kidnappers. Getting back into it after a few days off. Mixed results.
    • Day 40: short range session. Worked on my drill mostly. Finished with some full swings and driver swings. Range was packed because it was so nice out. Solid session though.
    • Day 5, 1/3/26.  Today was a weird day schedule-wise, but I did find 15 minutes to hit 6-iron shots (indoors, off a mat, into a net).  I also got to thinking about yesterday's round and, other than a few thin shots (that I think were weather/grip related), I didn't have any wild non-driver shots, which was weird for me.  I need to get back to video, which is tough in my setup. Also, this wouldn't count on its own, but anyone reading this and thinking about doing their own 5 minutes daily, check out Fit for Golf's latest podcast episode.  It's only a few minutes and Mike does a great job talking about the importance of doing a bit each day.  That also reminded me, I let my FFG subscription lapse, I'm going to renew it.
    • Day 32 (3 Jan 26) - Misty, rainy day - opted to rehearse swing in the mirror - focused on face position at P6 thru P9.
    • Day 460 - 2026-01-03 Set up GEARS Hybrid for a lesson, so used it in the morning for checking a few things from yesterday.
