Yeah, that's right. Settlers’ Ghost Golf Course in Canada have brought in the help of two goats to be used as groundskeepers.  Very interesting idea honestly. J.T McVeigh, OMI Agency reports:

Quote:
“They eat the flowers off of the weeds first,” said Chris Gulliver, course superintendent and brains behind this green effort. “And then they start working on the rest of the plant.”
“The cost of these two goats is equivalent to about one carton of herbicide. Just from a monetary side, this makes sense,” Gulliver said. “The thing is that, once the weed killer is gone, it’s gone. The goats are going to be here for years.”

Environmentally friendly and saving money are hot topics at the moment.  You have to credit the superintendent for thinking outside the box.

So what would you think if you were about to hit your approach shot when a goat walks up to you munching away on weeds?

At Whistling Straits in Wisconsin they have a herd of black-faced sheep to help keep the course manicured

It's just hard keeping their teeth sharp when they are trimming the greens.  Sorry that joke was really baaaad. Hey, it probably gives the place a little je ne sais quoi.
